Bluebird Workshop

This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

The Beaver Creek Wetlands Association and Greene County Parks are hosting a workshop for volunteers who have interest in monitoring a bluebird trail during the Spring and Summer nesting seasons.

We will learn about the plight of Eastern Bluebirds and other native cavity-nesting birds, and what we can do to offset the damage done by the loss of nesting habitat, harsh weather, pesticides and fierce competition from non-native species like House Sparrows.

We will also review best conservation practices about installing nest boxes, troubleshooting and protecting against predators, and sharing data with scientists.
