Bring your homeschool groups outside for hands-on science designed for all ages. Two programs are designed just for homeschoolers. They are called Homeschool Science Days and Homeschool Science Days DISCOVERY HIKES.
Homeschool Science Days are station-based with various fun, educational activities. These are drop in programs that begin at 10 am and go to noon. Please plan to arrive no later than 11:30 in order to have time to enjoy the activities.
Homeschool Science Days DISCOVERY HIKES last 90 minutes and cover seasonal topics such as wildflowers, habitats, animal tracking and more. These discovery hikes are guided and will leave promptly at 10 am. Late guests will have to catch up. The hikes end at 11:30 am.
Dress for the weather. This program will be entirely outdoors, rain or shine. There is a chance that participants may get muddy.
At least one adult must be present with each homeschool group.
Registration is no longer needed for the homeschool educational series.
Earth Day
Let's celebrate Earth Day! Play with our giant Earth ball, make native seed bombs, play Earth Day games and learn ways to do good things for the planet. Please plan on arriving no later than 11:00 to have time to enjoy all that this program has to offer.

DISCOVERY HIKE: Spring Wildflowers
Indian Mound Reserve is an AMAZING place to see wildflowers. Bring your homeschoolers and hike the self-guided trail with informational signs by each of the wildflowers. Naturalists will be on hand to answer questions and lead quick activities along the way. The trails at Indian Mound reserve are rocky and not stroller friendly. You do not have to arrive right at 10:00 for this hike, but try not to arrive any later than 10:30 so that you have time to enjoy it.
