Are you up for the challenge?  Well we have one for you!Join us in 2025 for a passport to fun as we offer you a 50 mile hiking challenge in our parks.  That's right, we want you to get out and explore nature and by doing so you can win an awesome Greene County Parks & Trails prize. Starting on 03/01/2025, you can stop by our headquarters to get your Passport Pathways book for a year of fun.  Hike at least 50 miles in one of our parks (bike trails included) and then bring your documented passport to our office for your certified stamp.  You can come after each walk or all at the end, your choice.  This passport program is based on the honor system so be sure to document your mileage inside your passport.  This will end on 12/31/2025.Once we have verified your 50 miles, you will receive a gift from our agency.  This program is one passport and gift per family, not each family member.  Biking is not included in this challenge.  This passport program is separate from the Bark Ranger program and the two cannot be combined, you must complete each passport separately.  This is an independent hiking program, our organized hikes do not count towards the 50 miles Get out and explore!

David Mullikin is back!  Come on out to the Fairgrounds Recreation Center Park (Large Shelter) to listen to one of our hometown musicians sing some tunes for us!Let's get out into the park setting and listen to some more of that great music performed by David.  If you like, please plan to make requests, sing along, and/or clap to the beat of the songs!  And, as always, David has a few jokes to share - and as you know, he thinks that he is funny....See you there!This is a FREE program for Ages 55 & Up.  Picnic tables are available.  Please bring your own chair or cushion for your comfort if you prefer.Fairgrounds Recreation Center Park is located at:  210 Fairground Road, Xenia, Ohio - next to the Greene County Fairgrounds.

Each week, we will get our heart rate up and get moving while enjoying the outdoors in our beautiful parks. Walks are guided and self-paced. Greene County Parks & Trails, Fairborn Parks and Recreation and the City of Beavercreek Parks Department have teamed up to provide walks all over Greene County.Walks are on Thursdays, 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.All walks are rated for difficulty with a 1 being the easiest and a 3 being the most difficult. Ratings consider terrain, elevation changes, etc.

Our unique Wiggle Worms program is designed to introduce children, ages 2-5, to the natural world through play and fun!Each month our Wiggle Worms will enjoy programs of different topics.  All Wiggle Worms are held from 10 am - Noon and attendees can come anytime during those hours, allowing time to complete the stations/activities.  Adults are required to stay with the child/children during the program. These programs are free and open to the public.

If so, we want to invite you to the Warrior Resiliency Celebration program!Veterans, service members, and their families are invited to join the Warrior Resiliency Team, along with Greene County Veterans Services and Greene County Parks & Trails, for Veteran specific programming.  A place where like-minded individuals can get together for fun, fellowship and more.  We want to serve those that have served!

Monarch butterflies are migrating to Mexico!  Come out to the park to help tag them as part of an International Citizen Science project.Their numbers are declining.  Learning more about their migration could help scientists find ways to help them.A limited number of nets will be available for use during the program.

Bring out the classic cars, trucks, bikes, and all the family, for an evening fun as we fill Caesar Ford Park with oldies music, laughter, food, friendship and more. It is FREE to attend and each car participants will be eligible for great door prizes.In the event of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled.

Toad-ally Together is back for another year!  This fun series of programs, partnered by Greene County Parks & Trails and GCBDD, is designed to bring kids and families of all abilities together to have fun in our backyard! Did you enjoy growing up with Highlights Seek and Find puzzles? What if you and your kids could be part of a hide and seek game, with the Russ Nature Reserve being your puzzle board?That is right! Hundreds of pumpkins will be hidden along the trails at the Russ Nature Reserve and your child, age 4-12, will have to search and find pumpkins that match images on the cards we provide. Each child will be given a card with 10 different objects to find, painted on the pumpkins. Once they find them, cross them off and keep looking. When all 10 are found, return to the tent for some fun money that is good to spend at our candy store and in our pumpkin patch (1 candy bag and pumpkin purchase per registered child). Children are encouraged to come in costume! This is a FREE program, registration is required and opens August 18th. If you register and are unable to attend, please call so your spot does not go unused.This is a drop-in program, you can come any time between 5:30 & 7:30 p.m.

Join us for a Romantic Night Out at Caesar Ford Park where staff helps to take the guess work out of date night.Upon arrival, you will find a setting fit for romance with tables for two, and just the right amount of lighting and music for a romantic dinner. Your night will start with an appetizer along with a bottle of the house "sparkling" cider or juice. Following, you will get a delicious salad, with a main dinner buffet, and a special dessert surprise just for two. After dinner, join your partner on the dance floor for an evening to remember and/or take a romantic hike through the woods. The evening is yours...The program is $65 for 2 people. Please only enter one person during the registration process. As much as we would like, we are unable to provide a meal to cater to all dietary restrictions. This event will serve a vegetarian option only with the main course.

Bring your homeschool groups outside for hands-on science designed for all ages. Two programs are designed just for homeschoolers. They are called Homeschool Science Days and Homeschool Science Days DISCOVERY HIKES.   Homeschool Science Days are station-based with various fun, educational activities. These are drop in programs that begin at 10 am and go to noon. Please plan to arrive no later than 11:30 in order to have time to enjoy the activities.   Homeschool Science Days DISCOVERY HIKES  last 90 minutes and cover seasonal topics such as wildflowers, habitats, animal tracking and more.  These discovery hikes are guided and will leave promptly at 10 am.  Late guests will have to catch up.  The hikes end at 11:30 am.  Dress for the weather. This program will be entirely outdoors, rain or shine.   There is a chance that participants may get muddy. At least one adult must be present with each homeschool group.Registration is no longer needed for the homeschool educational series.

All kids up to age 17 can "rent" a space at the Hunger Days Food Truck Rally to sell whatever their entrepreneur hearts can come up with! Art! Jewelry! Candles! Ornaments! The options are endless!All vendors will have to register, submit an application, provide their own table, tent and chairs, their products and options for payments. Booth "rentals" are free for all kids up to age 17. Applications are attached below.***Vendors are accepted on a first come basis with limited duplication of products.  Parents (or accompanying adult) are REQUIRED to stay on-site the entire time.

Bring your homeschool groups outside for hands-on science designed for all ages. Two programs are designed just for homeschoolers. They are called Homeschool Science Days and Homeschool Science Days DISCOVERY HIKES.   Homeschool Science Days are station-based with various fun, educational activities. These are drop in programs that begin at 10 am and go to noon. Please plan to arrive no later than 11:30 in order to have time to enjoy the activities.   Homeschool Science Days DISCOVERY HIKES  last 90 minutes and cover seasonal topics such as wildflowers, habitats, animal tracking and more.  These discovery hikes are guided and will leave promptly at 10 am.  Late guests will have to catch up.  The hikes end at 11:30 am.  Dress for the weather. This program will be entirely outdoors, rain or shine.   There is a chance that participants may get muddy. At least one adult must be present with each homeschool group.Registration is no longer needed for the homeschool educational series.

Have you ever had the desire to decorate beautiful cakes but you didn't quite know where to start?  Well how about start with us and our new Cake Decorating classes being held at Clifton Lodge and Reserve?Through a partnership with ele Cake Co., we are offering a series of 4 different cake decorating classes.  You must register for each class individually.  Each registered guest will receive one ele cake with an assortment of ele icing, fondant as well as instruction on how to create these masterpieces.  Once finished, you will take your cake home to enjoy.Classes will last approximately 45 minutes.

Our GTO program is for preteens and teens ages 10-17. Our goal is to encourage this age group to get out of the house, off electronics and social media and into the parks!We will provide a variety of activities and programs geared towards preteens and teens that are fun and exciting once a month, most of the year.
