10:00 AM - 12:00 PM    Homeschool Science Days - Homeschool Science Days: Cold-blooded Critters
Bring your homeschool groups outside for hands-on science designed for all ages. Two programs are designed just for homeschoolers. They are called Homeschool Science Days and Homeschool Science Days DISCOVERY HIKES.   Homeschool Science Days are station-based with various fun, educational activities. These are drop in programs that begin at 10 am and go to noon. Please plan to arrive no later than 11:30 in order to have time to enjoy the activities.   Homeschool Science Days DISCOVERY HIKES  last 90 minutes and cover seasonal topics such as wildflowers, habitats, animal tracking and more.  These discovery hikes are self-guided so please arrive in time to complete the walk before the scheduled end time. Dress for the weather. This program will be entirely outdoors, rain or shine.   There is a chance that participants may get muddy. At least one adult must be present with each homeschool group.Registration is no longer needed for the homeschool educational series.

10:00 AM - 10:30 AM    Toddler & Me Hikes - Russ Nature Reserve
We are back with more hikes for the beginner hikers of Greene County! This preschool program will get those little legs used to hiking in our parks.  This 30 minute Toddler & Me program will introduce the children to the outdoor world through short hikes within our parks.  The program is designed for an adult to participate with the toddler(s).  This is a free program, no registration required.

6:00 PM - 7:00 PM    Nature Tech For Newbies - OuterSpatial
Have you ever heard a bird and wondered what it was?  Seen a plant and were curious about it's name?  Wanted to take a hike but weren't sure of the best trails?  This series of nature tech for newbies is for you!  Each session will focus on a specific app or tech that makes nature more accessible. Topics include: Merlin ID for bird identification, iNaturalist for plant and animal identification, OuterSpatial and AllTrails for maps and hiking, and more!Participants should have a device that will allow app downloading for the full experience. Coming in 2026:April - iNaturalist BioblitzMay - Merlin & OuterSpatial

Our parks are for everyone. We are proud to partner with the Greene County Board of Development Disabilities to offer inclusive programming designed to welcome individuals of all abilities, backgrounds, and ages. These programs are thoughtfully created to ensure participants feel supported, respected, and empowered to engage at their own pace.Activities are adaptable and accessible, with a focus on fun, connection and participation rather than limitations. Everyone deserves the opportunity to play, explore, learn, and belong!  Our inclusive programs are one more way we’re building parks where everyone feels welcome.
