Wellness Walkers - Spring/Summer - Wellness Walkers - Spring/Summer Each week, we will get our heart rate up and get moving while enjoying the outdoors in our beautiful parks. Walks are guided and self-paced. Greene County Parks & Trails, Fairborn Parks and Recreation and the City of Beavercreek Parks Department have teamed up to provide walks all over Greene County.Walks are on Thursdays, 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.All walks are rated for difficulty with a 1 being the easiest and a 3 being the most difficult. Ratings consider terrain, elevation changes, etc.

Birds & Reptiles - Oh, My! - Birds & Reptiles - Oh, My! When is the last time you saw or were in close contact with a bird, a turtle, or a snake?!Well, come join GCP&T Naturalists, at the Fairground Recreation Center, where you will see some of those beautiful creatures. You will also learn about their habitats, their eating habits, and their ability to survive in an ever-changing ecosystem. You will leave with a better understanding and information about some of our most precious creatures and how important they are to helping to maintain our ecosystem and survival.This is a FREE program.Picnic Tables are available. Please bring a chair or cushion for your comfort.

10-13 ~ Night Owls - Night Owls For one night only, experience the park after dark. We will explore the forest looking for nocturnal creatures, learn about nocturnal adaptations, play with glow paint, and probably get some sleep… or not… This is an overnight program, tents will be provided.

Take Charge of your Diabetes - Take Charge of Your Diabetes A representative from Family & Consumer Sciences Educator, Ohio State University Extension, Greene County, will be joining us at the Fairgrounds Rec. Center Park to present information in reference to “Taking Charge of Your Diabetes”.Learn more about the signs of diabetes, possible complications, and ways to manage the diagnosis, including simple steps and learning to prepare nutritious and tasty food. This program is for those with diabetes or pre-diabetes and their family members or caretakers.Information will be presented and questions answered on the topic of diabetes. Please join us at the park to learn more about this important health care topic!This is a FREE program.Picnic tables are available. Please bring a chair or cushion for your comfort.

Greene Grasshoppers - Greene Grasshoppers: Water Works Geared towards our kiddos 6-9 years old, Greene Grasshoppers is a monthly program where they get have nothing but FUN in our parks.With these station-based programs, kids will experience a different topic each month.Greene Grasshoppers is FREE to attend and no registration is necessary, they typically run from 6-8 pm until the fall. You can come anytime during the two hours as long as you leave time to complete everything.
