Each week, we will get our heart rate up and get moving while enjoying the outdoors in our beautiful parks. Walks are guided and self-paced. Greene County Parks & Trails, Fairborn Parks and Recreation and the City of Beavercreek Parks Department have teamed up to provide walks all over Greene County.Walks are on Thursdays, 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.All walks are rated for difficulty with a 1 being the easiest and a 3 being the most difficult. Ratings consider terrain, elevation changes, etc.

NEW monthly drop off program for homeschool teens that dives into nature and science through hands on learning. Indoor and Outdoor labs with topics like dissections, plant science, earth science, ecology, geology, zoology, biology, chemistry, meteorology and more! Guest speakers who are experts in their fields will be utilized when possible! Your kids won't want to miss these!*** All sessions will be held outdoors, please dress to get dirty and for the weather. ***

***NEW LOCATION FOR 2026*** Back by popular demand! Join us, and some amazing guest speakers, as we dive into an Urban farming adventure. During this Urban Homesteading series, you will learn the basics of using the space you have to grow produce and more. This series is great for those who live in urban and rural areas and want to learn how to start their own homestead. You don’t need 50 acres to grow your own resources! February Class Prepared Going to the grocery can really put a dent in your wallet in 2026! This session will go over the basics of urban homesteading, preparing you for a bountifully abundant year. getting started can be overwhelming, we will break it all down into easy to follow steps and will help you understand the ins and outs of urban homesteading! March Class Build Winter seed starting is a great way to get the start on your abundance for the year! In this session we will start some greens in a milk jug. Soil and seeds will be provided, bring your own milk jugs! We will also discuss different ways you can garden in small spaces with containers and indoor grow towers! April Class Grow Now we are prepared and have started some seeds, we move on to GROW! Abundance in small spaces is achievable! This session will discuss container gardening, soil, and getting the most from the space you have. From 5 acres or 5 feet you can grow abundance! May Class Harvest You've got plants growing and now we prepare for harvest! Our guest speaker is a urban homesteader who is passionate about sharing knowledge with community. They will go through, step by step, the process of preserving your harvest so you can enjoy garden fresh goodies throughout the year! Guests that attend all sessions will receive a gift from our department.

Guided tours will show you how to identify sugar maple trees, how syrup has been made throughout history, and more. Tours end at our sugar shack and include a tasty sample of our "liquid gold."In the event of inclement weather we will do our best to reschedule your group on a different day. The tours are FREE however we are limited with parking.  Spots will be filled first come, first serve by calling 937-562-6440 to register.  Registrations will be taken from 8a-4p, Monday - Friday.Program dates are 02/21 & 02/2810 am & 1 pmSpace is limited.

Treat yourself to a sweet night out! Greene County Parks & Trails is partnering with ele Cake Company for an indulgent cake decorating class designed just for adults. Learn step-by-step techniques from the pros and design your own delicious masterpiece to take home.No experience needed — just bring your love of dessert and a willingness to have fun!These classes are a six-part series offered every other month throughout the year, each featuring a new theme and design to keep your skills (and your sweet tooth) growing.You must register for each class individually.  Each registered guest will receive one ele cake with an assortment of icing, fondant as well as instruction on how to create these masterpieces.  Once finished, you will take your cake home to enjoy.

Discover the magic of hiking at night when the full moon lights the way. Will you see glowing eyes? Hear the hoot of an owl? Join us to experience nature at night...New in 2026, we will be adding fun themes to our Full Moon Hikes starting in March and they will be self-guided.  Be sure to come out and join these fun walks.  Well-behaved dogs are encouraged to attend with their owners. Our pancakes taste even better when served at Caesar Ford Park!  This is the same great event, just a location to accommodate more people.  FREE as always, pancakes, sausage and REAL maple syrup will be served right through your car window...so no need to even get out of the car. Donations are always appreciated as they help to support it for the future.Limit of one breakfast per person; large orders may not be able to be accommodated and/or may be required to wait momentarily.

Our GTO program is for preteens and teens ages 10-17. Our goal is to encourage this age group to get out of the house, off electronics and social media and into the parks!We will provide a variety of activities and programs geared towards preteens and teens that are fun and exciting once a month, most of the year.

Have you ever heard a bird and wondered what is was?  Seen a plant and were curious about it's name?  Wanted to take a hike but weren't sure of the best trails?  This series of nature tech for newbies is for you!  Each session will focus on a specific app or tech that makes nature more accessible. Topics include: Merlin ID for bird identification, iNaturalist for plant and animal identification, OuterSpatial and AllTrails for maps and hiking, and more!Participants should have a device that will allow app downloading for the full experience. Coming in 2026:April - iNaturalist BioblitzMay - Merlin & OuterSpatial

On Wednesdays we do wild! Nature is a great classroom and we are so excited for Wild School Wednesdays! We will learn all the basics, colors, letters, numbers etc... Students will also learn all about nature with our animal ambassadors and outdoor classroom! Our home base will be the Critter Cove at the Narrows before heading out on a day of adventure and discovery! Students need to be potty trained. This weekly drop off preschool program is bound to be a huge hit with your little wild ones! **This is an 8-week class.**

This isn't just your ordinary Easter egg hunt, get ready to scramble your way into Easter with a scaled down version of our extreme egg hunt for kids ages 5-9.The Fairgrounds Recreation Center will be packed with hundreds of Easter eggs just waiting to be discovered.  Every egg will have candy inside, some will be specially marked for great prizes.   Will you be lucky enough to find a prize egg?  This is a registration program only, walk-in's will not be accepted.  Adults, there will be a roped off area for the egg hunt, you will not be allowed inside that area during the hunt.  Participants should bring along an Easter basket or bag.Watch social media for more details.  No refunds will be offered after registration.  Be sure to add barcode check-in to your registration at the end of your checkout process.

Hop on over to James Ranch Park for a sweet adventure for our favorite 2-4 year olds.The Easter Bunny was visiting the park the other day, getting ready for some Easter fun, and his big bag of colorful jelly beans broke open, they all spilled out and are now missing!Can you help the Bunny save Easter by finding all of his missing jelly beans?  If you can, there may be a fun reward waiting for you at the end.This program includes a small walk through the park.**Please do not register if you cannot commit to attending.  No-shows may jeopardize our free programming.
