Students will also learn all about nature with our animal ambassadors and outdoor classroom! Our home base will be the Critter Cove at the Narrows before heading out on a day of adventure and discovery! Students need to be potty trained. This weekly drop off preschool program is bound to be a huge hit with your little wild ones! **This is an 8-week class.**

This is a FREE program for seniors that will have some prizes for winners and some good fun and laughs for all. Will you be a winner? Come on out to find out! What better way to play and enjoy BINGO than in one of your beautiful Greene County Parks!This is a FREE program for Ages 55 & Up. This isn't just your ordinary Easter egg hunt, get ready to scramble your way into Easter with a scaled down version of our extreme egg hunt for kids ages 5-9.The Fairgrounds Recreation Center will be packed with hundreds of Easter eggs just waiting to be discovered.  Every egg will have candy inside, some will be specially marked for great prizes.   Will you be lucky enough to find a prize egg?  This is a registration program only, walk-in's will not be accepted.  Adults, there will be a roped off area for the egg hunt, you will not be allowed inside that area during the hunt.  Participants should bring along an Easter basket or bag.Watch social media for more details.  No refunds will be offered after registration.  Be sure to add barcode check-in to your registration at the end of your checkout process.

Hop on over to James Ranch Park for a sweet adventure for our favorite 2-4 year olds.The Easter Bunny was visiting the park the other day, getting ready for some Easter fun, and his big bag of colorful jelly beans broke open, they all spilled out and are now missing!Can you help the Bunny save Easter by finding all of his missing jelly beans?  If you can, there may be a fun reward waiting for you at the end.This program includes a small walk through the park.**Please do not register if you cannot commit to attending.  No-shows may jeopardize our free programming.

Guest speakers who are experts in their fields will be utilized when possible! ***NEW LOCATION FOR 2026*** Back by popular demand! Join us, and some amazing guest speakers, as we dive into an Urban farming adventure. During this Urban Homesteading series, you will learn the basics of using the space you have to grow produce and more. This series is great for those who live in urban and rural areas and want to learn how to start their own homestead. You don’t need 50 acres to grow your own resources! February Class Prepared Going to the grocery can really put a dent in your wallet in 2026! This session will go over the basics of urban homesteading, preparing you for a bountifully abundant year. getting started can be overwhelming, we will break it all down into easy to follow steps and will help you understand the ins and outs of urban homesteading! March Class Build Winter seed starting is a great way to get the start on your abundance for the year! In this session we will start some greens in a milk jug. Soil and seeds will be provided, bring your own milk jugs! We will also discuss different ways you can garden in small spaces with containers and indoor grow towers! April Class Grow Now we are prepared and have started some seeds, we move on to GROW! Abundance in small spaces is achievable! This session will discuss container gardening, soil, and getting the most from the space you have. From 5 acres or 5 feet you can grow abundance! May Class Harvest You've got plants growing and now we prepare for harvest! Our guest speaker is a urban homesteader who is passionate about sharing knowledge with community. They will go through, step by step, the process of preserving your harvest so you can enjoy garden fresh goodies throughout the year! Guests that attend all sessions will receive a gift from our department.

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM    Homeschool Science Days - Homeschool Science Days: Earth Day
Bring your homeschool groups outside for hands-on science designed for all ages. Two programs are designed just for homeschoolers. They are called Homeschool Science Days and Homeschool Science Days DISCOVERY HIKES.   Homeschool Science Days are station-based with various fun, educational activities. These are drop in programs that begin at 10 am and go to noon. Please plan to arrive no later than 11:30 in order to have time to enjoy the activities.   Homeschool Science Days DISCOVERY HIKES  last 90 minutes and cover seasonal topics such as wildflowers, habitats, animal tracking and more.  These discovery hikes are guided and will leave promptly at 10 am.  Late guests will have to catch up.  The hikes end at 11:30 am.  Dress for the weather. This program will be entirely outdoors, rain or shine.   There is a chance that participants may get muddy. At least one adult must be present with each homeschool group.Registration is no longer needed for the homeschool educational series.

Find out the guidelines for safely foraging in our parks, how to tell safe plants from dangerous look-a- likes, and more as you follow a self-guided trail with informative signs. A naturalist will be on site to answer your questions. The wildflowers at Indian Mound Reserve put on a spectacular show every spring. This naturalist-led hike will take you to see nature's bouquet in all its glory. Learn which flowers are native to the area, what pollinators they attract, and other cool facts as you hike into the enchanting Massie Creek gorge.Snow/Rain dates are:  April 18th or April 19th.
