Are you up for the challenge?  Well we have one for you!Join us in 2025 for a passport to fun as we offer you a 50 mile hiking challenge in our parks.  That's right, we want you to get out and explore nature and by doing so you can win an awesome Greene County Parks & Trails prize. Starting on 03/01/2025, you can stop by our headquarters to get your Passport Pathways book for a year of fun.  Hike at least 50 miles in one of our parks (bike trails included) and then bring your documented passport to our office for your certified stamp.  You can come after each walk or all at the end, your choice.  This passport program is based on the honor system so be sure to document your mileage inside your passport.  This will end on 12/31/2025.Once we have verified your 50 miles, you will receive a gift from our agency.  This program is one passport and gift per family, not each family member.  Biking is not included in this challenge.  This passport program is separate from the Bark Ranger program and the two cannot be combined, you must complete each passport separately.  This is an independent hiking program, our organized hikes do not count towards the 50 miles Get out and explore!

Back by popular demand!  Our stuffed animal program, similar to Build-a-Bear! NEW AGE GROUP THIS YEAR ~ 4-12!Our animal sanctuary is overflowing with animals in need of care...are you the right person to help take care of them?Our animal sanctuary has a variety of animals that are in need of help in one way or another.  Can you be the one to help them?  If you have what it takes to help care for our animals, you can become an official Animal Sanctuary Volunteer and take one home with you.  **Animals will be randomly given out, children will not choose**This program is station-based, you do not need to arrive right at the start time.  Please arrive with no less than 30 minutes left so you have time to complete the program.Registration will open 30 days prior to help eliminate no-shows.

Each week, we will get our heart rate up and get moving while enjoying the outdoors in our beautiful parks. Walks are guided and self-paced. Greene County Parks & Trails, Fairborn Parks and Recreation and the City of Beavercreek Parks Department have teamed up to provide walks all over Greene County.Walks are on Thursdays, 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.All walks are rated for difficulty with a 1 being the easiest and a 3 being the most difficult. Ratings consider terrain, elevation changes, etc.

We are back with more hikes for the beginner hikers of Greene County! This preschool program will get those little legs used to hiking in our parks.  This 30 minute Toddler & Me program will introduce the children to the outdoor world through short hikes within our parks.  The program is designed for an adult to participate with the toddler(s).  This is a free program, no registration required.

Each week, we will get our heart rate up and get moving while enjoying the outdoors in our beautiful parks. Walks are guided and self-paced. Greene County Parks & Trails, Fairborn Parks and Recreation and the City of Beavercreek Parks Department have teamed up to provide walks all over Greene County.Walks are on Thursdays, 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.All walks are rated for difficulty with a 1 being the easiest and a 3 being the most difficult. Ratings consider terrain, elevation changes, etc.

Geared towards our kiddos 6-9 years old, Greene Grasshoppers is a monthly program where they get to have nothing but FUN in our parks.With these station-based programs, kids will experience a different topic each month.Greene Grasshoppers is FREE to attend and no registration is necessary, they typically run from 6-8 pm until the fall.  You can come anytime during the two hours as long as you leave time to complete everything.

WE ARE BACK to craft with you on a seasonal basis.  Join us for this popular program where we make seasonal crafts for you to enjoy for years to come.  New this year, the Krafting Korner will travel to different parks in the County.Although the program is scheduled for 2 hours, not all crafts will take the full time.  Feel free to stay as long as you need to complete your project...but also to leave when you have a finished product.Due to space, we are unable to accommodate unregistered guests.  This program is adults.

Each week, we will get our heart rate up and get moving while enjoying the outdoors in our beautiful parks. Walks are guided and self-paced. Greene County Parks & Trails, Fairborn Parks and Recreation and the City of Beavercreek Parks Department have teamed up to provide walks all over Greene County.Walks are on Thursdays, 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.All walks are rated for difficulty with a 1 being the easiest and a 3 being the most difficult. Ratings consider terrain, elevation changes, etc.

Our unique Wiggle Worms program is designed to introduce children, ages 2-5, to the natural world through play and fun!Each month our Wiggle Worms will enjoy programs of different topics.  All Wiggle Worms are held from 10 am - Noon and attendees can come anytime during those hours, allowing time to complete the stations/activities.  Adults are required to stay with the child/children during the program. These programs are free and open to the public.

Parks are full of baby bunnies...but do they have babbling bunnies? Well we hope!Back for 2025, we are offering programming for babies/tots from the ages of 6 months to 23 months.Each session will be one hour long and will include projects/activities that the kids can do with assistance of their adult companion. You are not required to attend for the entire hour, stop in at your leisure allowing time to complete the activities. Parents/guardians are required to help.

Come out to the Fairgrounds Recreation Center Park (Large Shelter) and join us for a Western Arts program featuring knife throwing by Kirk & Melodee Bass.Get ready for some entertainment by Kirk & Melodee Bass!  Kirk Bass is a highly skilled knife thrower and has expertise regarding western arts!  You will be entertained and informed about western arts, knife throwing, and more.  Both Kirk & Melodee have participated in the Annie Oakley Days in Greenville, Ohio, for many years where they have demonstrated their talents in western arts, including knife throwing.Feel free to wear your western attire and get ready for some fun during this western arts program in the park!  It will be a fun time.  (There may even be a prize for the best western attire.)This is a FREE program for Ages 55 & Up.  Picnic tables are available.  Please bring your own chair or cushion for your comfort if you prefer.Fairgrounds Recreation Center Park is located at:  210 Fairground Road, Xenia, Ohio - next to the Greene County Fairgrounds.

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM    Homeschool Science Days - Homeschool Science Days: Creek Exploration
Bring your homeschool groups outside for hands-on science designed for all ages. Two programs are designed just for homeschoolers. They are called Homeschool Science Days and Homeschool Science Days DISCOVERY HIKES.   Homeschool Science Days are station-based with various fun, educational activities. These are drop in programs that begin at 10 am and go to noon. Please plan to arrive no later than 11:30 in order to have time to enjoy the activities.   Homeschool Science Days DISCOVERY HIKES  last 90 minutes and cover seasonal topics such as wildflowers, habitats, animal tracking and more.  These discovery hikes are guided and will leave promptly at 10 am.  Late guests will have to catch up.  The hikes end at 11:30 am.  Dress for the weather. This program will be entirely outdoors, rain or shine.   There is a chance that participants may get muddy. At least one adult must be present with each homeschool group.Registration is no longer needed for the homeschool educational series.

Have you ever had the desire to decorate beautiful cakes but you didn't quite know where to start?  Well how about start with us and our new Cake Decorating classes being held at Clifton Lodge and Reserve?Through a partnership with ele Cake Co., we are offering a series of 4 different cake decorating classes.  You must register for each class individually.  Each registered guest will receive one ele cake with an assortment of ele icing, fondant as well as instruction on how to create these masterpieces.  Once finished, you will take your cake home to enjoy.Classes will last approximately 45 minutes.

Are you up for the challenge?  Well we have one for you!Join us in 2025 for a passport to fun as we offer you a 50 mile hiking challenge in our parks.  That's right, we want you to get out and explore nature and by doing so you can win an awesome Greene County Parks & Trails prize. Starting on 03/01/2025, you can stop by our headquarters to get your Passport Pathways book for a year of fun.  Hike at least 50 miles in one of our parks (bike trails included) and then bring your documented passport to our office for your certified stamp.  You can come after each walk or all at the end, your choice.  This passport program is based on the honor system so be sure to document your mileage inside your passport.  This will end on 12/31/2025.Once we have verified your 50 miles, you will receive a gift from our agency.  This program is one passport and gift per family, not each family member.  Biking is not included in this challenge.  This passport program is separate from the Bark Ranger program and the two cannot be combined, you must complete each passport separately.  This is an independent hiking program, our organized hikes do not count towards the 50 miles Get out and explore!

Come join us for a musical performance by Robert Colaner, aka, “Bobby Lee the Nostalgia Piano Guy”!  Bob Colaner will be performing at the Fairgrounds Recreation Center Park, Large Shelter, where he will entertain you by playing music from different eras on his electric piano keyboard.  He may even sing a few tunes for us!Bob is a long time Xenia resident who studied at the University of Mount Union where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education.  Bob has been a classroom music teacher, private music teacher, arranger, conductor and conference speaker.  Bob will perform music on his electric piano keyboard which will include gentle piano jazz and a bit of Rock ’n’ Roll!This is a FREE event for those Ages 55 & Up.  Picnic tables are available or you are welcome to bring a comfortable chair along.  See you there!Fairgrounds Recreation Center Park is located at:  210 Fairground Road, Xenia, Ohio, next to the Greene County Fairgrounds and across from the James Ranch Park.

Each week, we will get our heart rate up and get moving while enjoying the outdoors in our beautiful parks. Walks are guided and self-paced. Greene County Parks & Trails, Fairborn Parks and Recreation and the City of Beavercreek Parks Department have teamed up to provide walks all over Greene County.Walks are on Thursdays, 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.All walks are rated for difficulty with a 1 being the easiest and a 3 being the most difficult. Ratings consider terrain, elevation changes, etc.

A representative from the Ohio State University (OSU) Extension Office Greene County, will be joining us at the Fairgrounds Recreation Center Park (Large Shelter) to present information in reference to "Taking Charge of Your Diabetes".This program will assist you in learning more about signs of diabetes, possible complications, and ways to manage the diagnosis, including simple steps and learning to prepare nutritious and tasty food.  This program is for those with diabetes or pre-diabetes and their family members or caretakers.  Helpful information and general questions will be answered on the topic of diabetes.  Please join us at the park to learn more about this important health care topic!This is a Free program for Ages 55 & Up.  Picnic tables are available.  Please bring your own chair or cushion for your comfort if you prefer.Fairgrounds Recreation Center Park is located at:  210 Fairground Road, Xenia, Ohio - next to the Greene County Fairgrounds.
