Calling all young spa lovers...grab your favorite grown-up and join us for a fun-filled spa day made just for kids!
Participants will rotate through a variety of relaxing and creative spa-inspired stations designed especially for ages 4–9. Along the way, they’ll enjoy hands-on activities, light refreshments, and plenty of opportunities to feel pampered and special. Each child will leave with cozy spa surprises and a reusable bag filled with goodies to remember the day.
Please only register the child/children participating. An adult is required to remain with and participate alongside the child/children throughout the spa day.
Due to space limitations, we are only able to accommodate registered participants and one adult companion per child. Additional guests are not able to be accommodated

Trivia Time in the Park is back! This will be an engaging and interactive fun event to test your knowledge of past and present TRIVIA STUFF! Join us at the Fairgrounds Recreation Center Park, LARGE SHELTER, to test your short-term and long-term memory when trying to answer the TRIVIA questions during this challenging program! Brain health is important and participating in games like TRIVIA helps to improve memory as well as our ability to recall information. Plus, you will be able to socialize with others, laugh, and compete for who can answer the most TRIVIA questions correctly!Come out to join us for this interactive and fun program taking place at the Fairgrounds Recreation Center Park, LARGE SHELTER, located at: 210 Fairground Road, Xenia, Ohio - next to the Greene County Fairgrounds..Picnic tables are available. Hangin' Out Book Club ~ The Hidden Life of Trees - Hangin' Out Book Club - The Hidden Life of Trees
New this year!Immerse yourself in the Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben while we sway in the breeze in hammocks! With the breeze overhead and roots below, this program invites you to slow down, look closer and rethink what it means to be connected with nature.Participants will have the option to bring their own hammock or select the add-on when registering to purchase a GCP&T hammock ($30). If a hammock is not your thing, or you aren't sure you are going to like them, that's OK! Just bring a blanket or a camping chair that you don't mind carrying approximately a half a mile.This program is in partnership with the Greene County Public Library.Books will be available for pickup here at Greene County Parks & Trails - you will be notified when they are ready to be picked up.A second session will be offered on November 7th at the Indian Mound Reserve and the book will be Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall-Kimmerer. Registration will be coming.

On Wednesdays we do wild! Nature is a great classroom and we are so excited for Wild School Wednesdays! We will learn all the basics, colors, letters, numbers etc... Students will also learn all about nature with our animal ambassadors and outdoor classroom! Our home base will be the Critter Cove at the Narrows before heading out on a day of adventure and discovery! Students need to be potty trained. This weekly drop off preschool program is bound to be a huge hit with your little wild ones! **This is an 8-week class.**

Homeschool Science Days - Homeschool Science Days: Cold-blooded Critters
Bring your homeschool groups outside for hands-on science designed for all ages. Two programs are designed just for homeschoolers. They are called Homeschool Science Days and Homeschool Science Days DISCOVERY HIKES. Homeschool Science Days are station-based with various fun, educational activities. These are drop in programs that begin at 10 am and go to noon. Please plan to arrive no later than 11:30 in order to have time to enjoy the activities. Homeschool Science Days DISCOVERY HIKES last 90 minutes and cover seasonal topics such as wildflowers, habitats, animal tracking and more. These discovery hikes are guided and will leave promptly at 10 am. Late guests will have to catch up. The hikes end at 11:30 am. Dress for the weather. This program will be entirely outdoors, rain or shine. There is a chance that participants may get muddy. At least one adult must be present with each homeschool group.Registration is no longer needed for the homeschool educational series.

Learn step-by-step techniques from the pros and design your own delicious masterpiece to take home.No experience needed — just bring your love of dessert and a willingness to have fun!These classes are a six-part series offered every other month throughout the year, each featuring a new theme and design to keep your skills (and your sweet tooth) growing.You must register for each class individually. Each registered guest will receive one ele cake with an assortment of icing, fondant as well as instruction on how to create these masterpieces. Once finished, you will take your cake home to enjoy.

Wellness Walkers - Spring/Summer 2026 - Wellness Walkers - Spring/Summer
Each week, we will get our heart rate up and get moving while enjoying the outdoors in our beautiful parks. Walks are guided and self-paced. Greene County Parks & Trails, Fairborn Parks and Recreation, the City of Beavercreek Parks Department and Beavercreek Wetlands Reserve have teamed up to provide walks all over Greene County.Walks are on Thursdays, 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.All walks are rated for difficulty with a 1 being the easiest and a 3 being the most difficult. Rating consider terrain, elevation changes, etc.

Nature Tech For Newbies - OuterSpatial
Have you ever heard a bird and wondered what it was? Seen a plant and were curious about it's name? Wanted to take a hike but weren't sure of the best trails? This series of nature tech for newbies is for you! Each session will focus on a specific app or tech that makes nature more accessible. Topics include: Merlin ID for bird identification, iNaturalist for plant and animal identification, OuterSpatial and AllTrails for maps and hiking, and more!Participants should have a device that will allow app downloading for the full experience. Want a fun reason to get out into the parks?? How about a Selfie Scavenger Hunt!? Here's how it will work -* Each month, May - August, we will highlight a specific park and will post pictures of certain landmarks, unique markings, etc.* This will all be posted on Facebook on the 1st of each month.* Visit that park, find those specific landmarks, markings, etc. and snap a selfie with each of them in the background. (We have to be able to see it!)* Upload those photos in the comments of the Facebook post!* Those who find every hidden item, at each of the parks each month, will receive an awesome prize from GCP&T!(Don't worry, we will keep track of who posts, but you are more than welcome to create your own fun collection of all the photos you've taken.)

Homeschool Science Days - Homeschool Science Days DISCOVERY HIKE: Habitats
Bring your homeschool groups outside for hands-on science designed for all ages. Two programs are designed just for homeschoolers. They are called Homeschool Science Days and Homeschool Science Days DISCOVERY HIKES. Homeschool Science Days are station-based with various fun, educational activities. These are drop in programs that begin at 10 am and go to noon. Please plan to arrive no later than 11:30 in order to have time to enjoy the activities. Homeschool Science Days DISCOVERY HIKES last 90 minutes and cover seasonal topics such as wildflowers, habitats, animal tracking and more. These discovery hikes are guided and will leave promptly at 10 am. Late guests will have to catch up. The hikes end at 11:30 am. Dress for the weather. This program will be entirely outdoors, rain or shine. There is a chance that participants may get muddy. At least one adult must be present with each homeschool group.Registration is no longer needed for the homeschool educational series.

Wellness Walkers - Spring/Summer 2026 - Wellness Walkers - Spring/Summer
Each week, we will get our heart rate up and get moving while enjoying the outdoors in our beautiful parks. Walks are guided and self-paced. Greene County Parks & Trails, Fairborn Parks and Recreation, the City of Beavercreek Parks Department and Beavercreek Wetlands Reserve have teamed up to provide walks all over Greene County.Walks are on Thursdays, 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.All walks are rated for difficulty with a 1 being the easiest and a 3 being the most difficult. Rating consider terrain, elevation changes, etc.

Slow Cooker Basics program is for the seasoned and first-time slow cooker owner. Participants will learn the basics when using a slow cooker and discover other items that they can prepare in a slow cooker!A representative from the Ohio State University (OSU) Extension Office Greene County, will be joining us at the Fairgrounds Recreation Center Park, LARGE SHELTER, to present information in reference to "Slow Cooker Basics". Please join us at the Park to learn more about this helpful and interesting topic.This is a FREE program for Ages 55 & Up! Picnic tables are available.
